The Lens is a free quarterly print and digital magazine focusing on content creators, photographers and videographers. My role on the team was to work with the art director from Rogers to ensure that the content, tone, imagery, and design were on brand. When they weren't, I provided guidance and solutions. I lead the design of interior imagery and signage by sourcing images, creating inspiring tag lines, creating templated way-finding signage templates used across all new stores, writing copy for wall decals, and leading the web and print teams on marketing collateral for pre and grand opening events. After our rebrand and new store design Henry's broke every grand opening sales record in the history of the company, consecutively. We both agreed that the gold and purple often found in royal fabrics would work great for Frank's identity. For his business cards, we went with a gold foil for the crown, which looked fantastic, or as Frank put it: "The gold crown is the highlight. I took them using the natural light in the sunroom of my mother's home back in Newfoundland, Canada. I wanted to edit them in such a way to highlight blemishes and lines. Some buttons were rectangular, others round, the navigation and the way images were displayed changed, and so on. I decided that an easy way to help unify the app and web experience was to create a consistent, custom icon set. Working with the marketing teams at both 500px and Collective Arts, I owned the creative direction for this campaign. What sets the company apart is the incredible imagery that you cannot find on other similar websites. However, the previous landing page used generic imagery that can be found on most other photo sharing platforms. Right away I began using the wealth of gorgeous, colourful, high-quality imagery throughout the site that wasn’t being utilized.
